fREAKAZOiD signs with Echo Fox

Echo Fox has filled out its Counter-Strike roster with a big-name American signing

Echo Fox has filled out its Counter-Strike roster with a big-name American signing. Ryan “fREAKAZOiD” Abadir has officially joined the team. The move was widely rumored after fREAKAZOiD played as a stand-in for the team on multiple occasions in recent months.

FREAKAZOiD was also seen playing together with Splyce at DreamHack Austin. Playing his customary role as the team’s entry-fragger, he averaged a rating of 1.00 across the three maps the team played before being eliminated by Counter Logic Gaming in the group’s deciding match.

Echo Fox’s CS:GO division received a fair amount of criticism over its lack of firepower when the roster was first announced on Jan. 26 last year. Since late April, however, the team has undergone a major transformation, leaving only former Cloud9 in-game leader Sean “seangares” Gares and Ronnie “ryx” Bylicki as the remaining members of the original lineup. Aside from fREAKAZOiD, the lineup is rounded out by former compLexity star Daniel “roca” Gustaferri and Shazeb “ShahZaM” Khan.

FREAKAZOiD was part of Cloud9’s impressive run of tournaments in the summer of 2015. He was considered a perfect fit with seangares’ style of leadership, as he would follow the other players’ orders to a tee. This would often come at the cost of his own life, as he’d sacrifice himself to to relay important information, like his opponent’s map position.

The new Echo Fox roster is slated to make its LAN debut in Turner Broadcasting’s ELEAGUE where they share a group with Na`Vi, mousesports, and FlipSid3.
