ESL have announced another addition of ESL One to be played out in New York's very own Barclays Center, right in the heart of Brooklyn where the event will take place from October 1-2 for $250,000.

The less than five year-old Barclays Center, home of the NHL's New York Islanders and NBA's Brooklyn Nets, will hold a capacity for 15,000+ passionate eSport fans from all over the world. This is just the fourth event for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in North America apart from MLG Columbus,IEM San Jose and DreamHack Austin. ESL One New York will feature CS:GO for the first time in North America with eight of the world's best teams battling to claim $250,000 and title rights to "East Coast's biggest esports event" champions.

“The esports industry is experiencing unprecedented growth and we are thrilled to be a part of it by hosting one of the largest tournaments on the East Coast. ESL One New York further diversifies Barclays Center’s programming portfolio and continues establishing the venue as a leader in emerging trends in sports and entertainment.”

The format for the tournament will begin with double elimination group stage, followed by single elimination best of three matches on the main stage. The standard for the event has been set to a high level of entertainment. The $250,000 tournament will be played in one of the biggest venues ever witnessed in Counter-Strike history. ESL will not only have Counter-Strike but rather a wide variety of side activities during event such as signing sessions with pro players, ESL Shop and virtual reality experience stations. ESL One New York aims to be a part of the most prestigious non-major tournament this year alongside SL i-league StarSeries, DreamHack Masters and many more.

“ESL’s commitment to a healthy and sustainable growth of the esports industry is best illustrated with events like ESL One New York expanding to the Festival level with more games. This expansion and adding exciting new venues like Barclays Center are the best examples of how rapid that growth is. We couldn’t be more excited to bring world-class esports competitions to fans on the East Coast come the first of October.”
