CWL Fort Worth’s championship bracket is well underway, and there have already have been several interesting results.
Eight of the best Call of Duty teams in the world collided in the opening round of the winners bracket earlier today to see who would advance to the semifinals. Gen.G and Splyce even entered the bracket with no losses in the pool play stage.
Gen.G vs. Luminosity
Gen.G entered their winners bracket match against Luminosity touting a nearly-perfect record in Search and Destroy. But the veteran players on Luminosity stopped Gen.G’s run of success, dominating both Search and Destroy maps in the series. The Search and Destroy victories, in addition to a 3-1 win on Gridlock Control, gave LG the series and a place in the winners bracket semifinals.
With the loss, Gen.G will now move down to the losers bracket where they have a meeting with CWL Las Vegas champions OpTic Gaming.
Team Reciprocity vs. Enigma6
Despite having an exciting win over Team Envy to close out yesterday’s games, Reciprocity came out flat against Enigma6 today. E6 took advantage of that and quickly swept the Europeans to secure a winners bracket semifinals spot.
Enigma6 will take on Luminosity next, while Reciprocity will look to bounce back against UYU in the losers bracket.
Splyce vs. Denial Esports
Entering CWL Fort Worth, many fans expected much different paths for Splyce and Denial Esports. Splyce, who finished third at CWL Las Vegas and pushed eventual champs OpTic Gaming to their limit, were generally seen as one of the better teams in the world.
Denial, on the other hand, only won two of their first seven matches in the 2019 CWL Pro League. To their credit, though, one of those wins came against Splyce. Despite that, Splyce were favored to come out on top in their winners bracket round one meeting.

Denial proved to be a tough matchup for Splyce once again, though, and they took the first Search and Destroy and second Hardpoint to force the series into a decisive fifth map. Splyce prevailed in the end, winning Frequency Search and Destroy in 10 rounds, but Denial showed that they shouldn’t be overlooked.
Denial will move to the losers bracket now, where they’ll face 100 Thieves.
Red Reserve vs. Team Envy
Team Envy looked like one of the best teams at CWL Fort Worth after beating both eUnited and OpTic Gaming, and almost completing a reverse sweep against Team Reciprocity in Pool D on Friday.
They didn’t seem like the same team against Red Reserve, however, in their winners bracket match. Red came out strong in the Hardpoint, taking it by nearly 50 points, and squeaked out a Gridlock Search and Destroy win to take a commanding 2-0 series lead.
Envy were unable to mount a comeback like last night’s against Reciprocity, and fell in a close Gridlock Control game to drop down to the losers bracket. They’ll face Team Heretics next, while Red will have to deal with Splyce in the winners bracket semifinals.
