Although Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 developer Treyarch had planned to release the free Arsenal Sandstorm multiplayer map today, the release has been delayed, Treyarch revealed via Twitter.

Many fans were excited to play the new map, which was going to be available on all platforms. Unfortunately, Treyarch announced at 9:38pm CT that the map would not be arriving today. The developer gave no reason for the delay, but tweeted it will “provide an update as soon as possible.”

Some Twitter users are upset at Treyarch for failing to deliver, with some saying they had expected the developer to delay the map’s launch. Treyarch also had a tough time creating League Play this year, delaying it two months before finally releasing the game’s competitive playlist.

In addition to Arsenal Sandstorm, Treyarch had promised PS4 players a new multiplayer mode, Deathmatch Domination, which arrived yesterday. Fans have seemed to enjoy this, but it’s understandably frustrating for players that they will not get to play the map as well.

There is no timetable for Arsenal Sandstorm to debut, but one would expect the map to be ready to go by the end of the week. If not, it would seem there is a very major issue with Black Ops 4’s newest battleground.
