Plant Species Z seeds debuted in Ark Survival Ascended with the launch of Aberration, and are an item needed to tame the new creature Yi Ling. Of course, that means you need to get your hands on them—and we’ll tell you where to go.

Where to find Plant Species Z seeds in Ark Survival Ascended

While Aberration has plenty of secrets hiding away and is full of danger, it’s also rather handily color-coordinated. For Plant Species Z seeds, head into the blue area of the map. They’re located in the middle of the area, south of the green area and north of the purple zone.

Plant Species Z plants are large and purple, so they shouldn’t be too difficult to spot. They cannot be harvested with hands or a pickaxe. Instead, stand close to the plant and wait around 70 seconds. After that time has passed, a single seed will be fired out for you to pick up.

Plant Species Z Seeds can be planted in a Large Crop Plot and grow the same as any other plant or crop in Ark, requiring both water and fertilizer to grow. To harvest more Plant Species Z seeds from one you have planted in a Large Crop Plot, use the same approach of standing nearby for 70 seconds until one is fired out.

You can speed up the process of collecting additional Plant Species Z Seeds by planting several close to each other and standing near them all. When done correctly, each of the plants should fire out a seed at the same time.
