Apex Legends’ first Battle Pass has finally arrived. Just like in other games that also use a battle pass to provide players with new cosmetic items, Apex’s will feature 100 tiers that players can reach one-by-one by playing to unlock exclusive rewards in each.
Players will be able to buy the Battle Pass for 950 Apex Coins, which are worth about $10. Those who reach the high tiers of the pass will be able to get 1,000 coins total and recover the in-game money they invested. That means the Battle Pass is already worth it from this perspective, since it pays for itself and is financially self-sustainable if you unlock all tiers.
When players think about features of the Battle Pass, the answer might be another one.

Are the Battle Pass features worth it?
The season one Apex Battle Pass offers too little for players used to getting several cosmetics in games like Fortnite.
One of the key things about the Battle Pass is that players have to spend time upgrading it. They will only get their coins back if they reach a certain level that will get them the 100 Apex Coins reward for the 10th time, and that only happens when they reach level 97.
When we break down the rewards, we see that 20 items are banner icons that show others what your Battle Pass level is, 10 experience bonuses of five percent each, which means 20 percent of the game’s Battle Pass levels award lame icons and another 10 percent are non-items.
Unlike what players from Fortnite: Battle Royale would’ve expected from the Apex Legends Battle Pass, Respawn didn’t add any character skins in the middle of the season one Battle Pass. The only character skins players can get are the three ones when they buy the pass. Then, they can only unlock weapon skins.
There are 21 weapon skins in the Battle Pass. The problem is that each of them fits only one weapon, which means that if you get a skin for a weapon you don’t use, it’s a waste.
Players who are looking for an experience similar to the Fortnite Battle Pass, where you get all kinds of cosmetic items you can think of, will probably be disappointed and conclude that the Battle Pass is not worth it, as many other players already did.
How much value do I earn?
On Reddit, someone going by the name DarthSatoris shared how they calculated the value of the entire Apex Legends season one Battle Pass in Apex Coins. They used two different methods, one that calculates the number of Apex Packs needed to open all the cosmetic items and a second one that converts the value of each item into Apex Coins by converting the Crafting Metal cost of items of the same rarity.
Darth grouped up the cosmetics of the Battle Pass in rarities. Since we don’t have their rarities confirmed yet, Darth compared their visuals to that of similar items to assign a rarity to each, since Common and Legendary items of all kinds have notable visual differences. The user then counted these items to converted their values into Apex Coins using both Apex Packs and Crafting Metals. He then just added these values up to the actual value of Apex Packs you earn during the season and the value of the Legendary Havoc skin if it was sold in the Shop.
Converting the cosmetics into Apex Packs, as if they could be opened from that, players would be getting about 5,200 Apex Coins worth of value from the season one Battle Pass. When converting the values of these cosmetics into Apex Coins through their theoretical Crafting Metal cost, players would get 7,790 Apex Coins.
If it was possible to convert Apex Coins back into cash, that means players would spend $10 to get about $40 back in the first case and $70 in the second case, considering the $60, $30, and $10 Apex Coins bundle currently on sale.
This is how much the Apex Legends season one Battle Pass is worth financially if you go all the way to tier 100. Just make sure you like the items in it and are willing to spend quite a long time playing the game to get all rewards.
