Apex Legends fans have been looking forward to the release of the game’s Battle Pass since the official year one roadmap was first unveiled. The roadmap revealed that season one was set to start in March, bringing a new Legend, as well as brand-new cosmetics and loot.

Many people expected the Battle Pass to drop on March 12, especially after an accidental leak on the Origin description page for Apex. Unfortunately, Respawn Entertainment shut down any rumors of the release date on the Apex subreddit.

But there has been another development that has led people to believe that March 12 was the actual release date after all. In the short Twitch clip below, you can see that items in the unlocked Apex pack “haven’t been authorized yet.” It looks like items in the upcoming Battle Pass were already loaded in-game, but because Respawn rolled back the release, it made them invalid.

There are plenty of rumors as to why Respawn might have rolled back the start of season one. For example, the leak for the Battle Pass on the Origin description page set the price at 950 coins.

Recently, there was another coding exploit that helped people unlock the Origin Access Pack, which was supposed to only be available to Origin Access subscribers. This pack gave users 1,000 Apex coins, a Flatline Epic Weapon skin, and a special Banner Badge. If Respawn released the Battle Pass at the same time as the exploit, many people could have essentially picked up the Battle Pass for free.

Yes, Respawn could have taken away all the packs and coins from the exploit abusers, but that would have taken a ton of extra time and resources that the developer may not have wanted to dedicate to the issue. Hopefully, Respawn is still dropping the Battle Pass this month since everyone has been holding their breath waiting for it.
