Many Apex Legends players have been clamoring for a rework of the legend Mirage since the release of the game.

Other than a few people who like using Mirage’s clones to bamboozle opponents, the majority agree that his kit is pretty underwhelming. A user on the game’s subreddit has created a fan-made rework of the trickster, and it looks pretty good so far.

The whole concept of Mirage controlling clones was kept in the rework, but it changed how these clones interact. First, Mirage’s passive was altered completely. Mirage has a passive that drops a decoy when he’s downed, while he turns invisible for a short moment. In this fan-made iteration of his passive, however, clones that run into a downed enemy will begin an execution and disappear before it finishes.

Mirage’s reimagined tactical allows his clones to be reactivated to start “shooting” in the direction that the player is facing. This adds a lot of depth and reliability to the decoys he sends out, rather than a clone that runs until it hits a wall.

His ultimate has also been reworked to add a bit more utility to the decoys he sends out. When activated, Mirage drops a smoke and flash grenade on his position. Five decoys then spawn, but all of them are facing different directions and mirroring the player’s movements.

There were mixed reactions to a few parts of the redesigned kit. Although some fans thought certain aspects of the rework were good, many people feel that implementing all these features would make Mirage way too overpowered. Some players agreed that having Mirage’s ultimate clones running and copying the player’s movements could be great, but adding a flashbang is unnecessary. Mirage’s passive has also been one of the worst in the game. So if Respawn reworks him, that should be a priority.
