After the insane early success of Respawn Entertainment’s new battle royale game, the developer might be looking to bring new modes to Apex Legends.
A leak found by GamingIntel shows that Apex might be getting a Survival Mode in the near future.
This leak points toward code that will involve NPC characters doing various actions. It’s still unknown what the specifics are, but an image from GamingIntel shows that they might be playing the role of a crowd, doing things like cheering and chanting.
Some of these actions will be completely based on player interactions during the battle, while others will continue looping, much like how players who do well in a game of Super Smash Bros. will hear their character’s name chanted in the background.
Diving further into the leak, it appears that along with the spectators, there will also be some type of commentator interaction going on as well. There are far fewer details for this portion of the mode, but it does show commands ranging from “player did poorly” and to “player did great.”
The inclusion of all the bells and whistles in the rumored new mode looks like it will give off a very sporting event vibe.
Nothing in these leaks has been confirmed by Respawn, however. So players should remain patient and wait for an official announcement from Respawn or EA in regards to the potential new Apex mode.
