A new Apex Legends bug makes Gibraltar’s Dome of Protection ability useless against certain weapons.

This goes against the purpose of the shield that’s meant to protect against all incoming bullets for 15 seconds and removes one of the perks of playing as Gibraltar, an already-underused character in the meta.

A Reddit user posted a clip showing their team under attack. The user activates Gibraltar’s Dome of Protection, only to quickly find out there’s an unfair bug related to it. Within a few seconds, the Reddit user and their team are shot through the shield, which (if you didn’t know) isn’t supposed to happen.

The team is shot not once, but twice through the Dome of Protection during the single clip. It appears to be a Havoc rifle that the enemy player is using to shoot through the ability, which could be the reason why this bug is occurring. It’s possible that the bug is only related to that weapon or a couple of weapons at the most.

Regardless, this is a problematic bug that Respawn needs to address soon since it makes Gibraltar’s shield utterly useless. This discourages players from using the legend even more than before. There’s also the possibility that this bug has nothing to do with an energy weapon like the Havoc, but rather, where the shield is located.

The Reddit user threw the shield down outside the entrance of the building, but it does cover the inside of the building, too. This weird setup could explain the bug since the building has walls that interfere with the shield and the shield was deployed at a lower point than the building itself.

Respawn has yet to acknowledge or comment on this bug.
