Respawn Entertainment’s Apex Legends, the free-to-play battle royale game, could be set to add a rocket launcher to its arsenal.

A Fortnite-esque battle pass is scheduled to drop this month. There’s speculation as to when the first season of Apex will begin, but some suggest it will go live on the servers tomorrow.

The new battle pass is expected to bring a potential update with the addition of possible new Legends, skins, and weapons. Respawn has failed to comment on what the upcoming patch will include, however.

But Apex Leaks News revealed on Twitter that a rocket launcher could be coming with the new battle pass. They posted a screenshot with the words “weapon_rocket_launcher,” alongside “venison,” “double_take,” “e-saw,” and “g2.”

According to Apex Leaks News, the unfamiliar words on the list are code names for weapons already implemented into the game.

This would suggest that a possible rocket launcher might be in the works for the next, or at least a future, patch. It could, however, be another code name for a different weapon, something else entirely, or a red herring.

A Twitter user suggested that the names in the screenshot may be left over game files from Titanfall 2, another game developed by Respawn. Apex Leaks News, however, quickly responded by saying that “Titanfall weapons start with a different header than Apex weapons.”
