TSM Leffen calls out Genesis 6 seeders for European bias

Some of the seeders seem to think EU players are penguins.

TSM’s Super Smash Bros. pro player William “Leffen” Hjelte has brought to light some issues with seeders for next month’s Genesis 6 Smash Bros. Ultimate event, where some people seemingly seeded European players unfairly.

The seeders are in charge of placing each competitor in the bracket so that the best players don’t meet until later in the competition. If done successfully and if everything goes as planned, the two best players at the tournament should always meet in the finals.

According to Leffen, however, the Genesis 6 seed team is being biased toward European players and seeding them unfairly. One of these players who’s been unfairly seeded appears to be William “Gluttony” Belaid, who’s arguably one of the best players in Ultimate at the time of writing.

In one instance, the Genesis 6 seeders seem to compare EU players to penguins. Leffen compiled a list of comments made by apparent seeders at the event where they also talk poorly about EU players as a whole.

In typical Leffen style, he also embraced the meme by getting penguin-themed Leffen emotes for his Discord chat.

Dot Esports has reached out to the Genesis 6 team for comments regarding Leffen’s concerns. Genesis 6 said it will address any feedback on seeding this Monday on social media.
