KT Rolster retains its entire roster for the 2018 season

The superteam lives.

Despite its failure to make the 2017 World Championship, KT Rolster has decided to retain its entire roster for 2018, the team announced via social media earlier today.

First put together at the end of 2016, this iteration of KT Rolster was instantly given the title of the Korean “superteam.” The team featured top laner Song “Smeb” Kyung-ho, and jungler Go “Score” Dong-bin, two players considered the best in their respective roles. In addition to these two, KT Rolster boasted the bot lane duo of Samsung White and Blue alumni, Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu and Cho “Mata” Se-hyeong.

But this superteam faced communication issues, which caused trouble during the mid to late game, especially when facing the top LCK teams. These issues persisted for the entirety of the 2017 season, and were the primary factors in KT Rolster’s losses in the LCK Summer Split playoffs, and Regional Finals.

For some, this announcement from KT Rolster is unexpected. After the disappointing performance in 2017, there was speculation of roster changes coming to KT Rolster. The only person to depart the team, however, is KT Rolster’s head coach, Lee Ji-hun, who blamed himself for the team’s failures.

You can catch the return of the KT Rolster superteam at this year’s Kespa Cup, which is currently underway, and is set to end on Dec. 2.
