The two teams were knocked into the losers bracket by OpTic Gaming in bracket play, but both seemed ready to make relatively brief losers bracket runs. EUnited, in particular, appeared confident and on their game in the losers bracket quarterfinals.

Luminosity will face off against eUnited in their next match, which will decide who advances to the losers bracket finals and clinches top three in the first event of the new season.

Lightning Pandas vs. eUnited

Although the Europeans of Lightning Pandas took out American squads Team Envy and Evil Geniuses in previous rounds, eUnited were just too much for Lightning Pandas in the losers bracket quarterfinals.

The match was fairly lopsided, with the Americans stamping out their opponents early and often throughout the series. With the win, eUnited secured a top four placing at CWL Las Vegas, as well as a spot in the 2019 CWL Pro League.

Luminosity vs. Team Sween

Luminosity, who were knocked into the losers bracket by OpTic Gaming on Saturday night, rebounded with a 3-1 victory against 100 Thieves to kick off Sunday. LG then pulled off a tough win in a five-game series against Str8 Rippin to move into the losers bracket quarterfinals.

There they faced Team Sween, a squad that has proven to be very dangerous at CWL Las Vegas. And LG felt their power firsthand in the opening map as Sween took Frequency Hardpoint. Luminosity fought back to even the series with a Search and Destroy win, and they took the series lead with a victory in Control.

With the lead and momentum on their side, Luminosity dominated Seaside Hardpoint to close out the match and qualify for the 2019 CWL Pro League.
