Will Team Vitality be able to challenge for the EU LCS title this year?

After weeks of keeping fans in the dark, Team Vitality has finally revealed its entire starting lineup for the upcoming EU LCS Spring Split.

Top laner Lucas “Cabochard” Simon-Meslet is the only returning player from the original Vitality roster. He is joined by four former Giants Gaming players, including top laner Erberk “Gilius” Demir, mid laner Daniele “Jiizuké” di Mauro, ADC Amadeu “Minitroupax” Carvalho, and support Jakub “Jactroll” Skurzynski.

Vitality’s new members helped Giants Gaming climb out of the EU Challenger Series last year, assisting the organization to regain promotion to the EU LCS. With the four members joining a new team together, Vitality will already have four new roster members with strong teamwork skills, that will be able to work together for the upcoming season.

“I have built a roster with a very clear common denominator, hunger and motivation that have not been seen before on this scene,” Vitality’s League of Legends head coach, Jakob “YamatoCannon” Mebdi, said in Vitality’s announcement. “I am certain we will grow at a rapid rate, faster than any other team in the EULCS.”

YamatoCannon became the head coach of Vitality for the 2016 Summer Split. He previously managed Splyce, helping the team to a World Championship appearance.

Vitality will be fighting for those all-important playoff spots at the end of the season. The team failed to make the playoffs in two consecutive splits last year by finishing fourth in their group, barely missing out on the possibility of being relegated to the EU CS.

The 2018 EU LCS Spring Split is set to begin Jan. 19.
