Best Yasuo build in League of Legends

“Death is like the wind, always by my side.”

Yasuo has always been one of the most popular champions in League of Legends. Although his kit has hardly changed since his release in season three, his presence is being felt even in season 14.

Yasuo is ranked amongst the strongest in League right now, and players should consider picking him up again while he is strong in the meta. Yasuo is a champion that scales well into the late-game, but also is very powerful early on after one or two items.

Here’s the best Yasuo build right now in League.

The best Yasuo build in LoL, explained

Runes

Precision

Fleet Footwork: Yauso relies on moving quickly in the late game. This is where you will see him at his most effective. Therefore, Fleet Footwork is a solid choice for the AD solo laner. Yasuo works best when a new wave is approaching because he has more minions to work with and with which to set up his abilities. Fleet Footwork will provide Yasuo with movement speed while healing him at any opportunity.

Triumph: Although the ten-death power spike is not a real thing, Yasuo players should be scrappy in the early game. Triumph rewards players who are always looking to fight, and we have yet to discover a passive Yasuo player. Triumph restores five percent of the players’ missing health while also granting 20 gold for each takedown.

Legend: Alacrity: As mentioned above, Yasuo players cannot help themselves from getting into a scrap, which is why this rune is so rewarding for Yasuo players. Yasuo relies not only on attack damage but also on attack speed. The quicker he can use his Q and auto attack, the easier it will be to knock them up with his Q. This rune grants attack speed for each legend stand.

Last Stand: This is the perfect rune for Yasuo, given how much fighting you are going to be doing with this champion. Last Stand grants players more damage when they are below 60 percent health.

Resolve

Second Wind: Although Yasuo does pump out a lot of damage, he does need some defensive stability if he is to survive in League. Second Wind heals for 4 percent after taking damage from an enemy.

Overgrowth: Yasuo is amazing in a side lane, and your team is going to want to funnel you as much gold as possible. Therefore, Overgrowth is a wonderful choice for Yasuo. Overgrowth provides you with added health simply for killing or being next to a dying minion or monster. Essentially, like having your own Sion passive, you gain more HP the longer the game goes on.

Bonus Stats: 10 percent attack speed, nine adaptive force, 10-180 health

Starting Item

Doran’s Blade: There isn’t much to it in the form of a starting item for Yasuo. Doran’s Blade is the standard for most AD melee champions, and Yasuo is no different. Doran’s Blade grants you extra attack damage and 80 health along with Omnivamp.

Core Items

Kraken Slayer: Kraken Slayer has been the most popular first item for Yasuo for a long time in League. It provides everything he needs. Attack speed, attack damage, and movement speed. This is the item we were talking about in regards to not needing much to get going. Once Yasuo has this item, you can look to be as aggressive as you like as you will be breezing through minions left, right, and center.

Berserker’s Greaves: Yasuo is best when he has a lot of attack speed. Not many melee champions can deal with the speed of his attacks. Therefore, Berserker’s Greaves are your best bet for boots.

Infinity Edge: By this point in the game, you should be on top, thanks to the bonuses you will have received from your runes, along with the Infinity Edge you just purchased. By now, you will have the attack speed, and now it is the point in the game where you will want to start adding even more damage to your arsenal.

Late-game items

Immortal Shieldbow: Although you are no longer taking a healing item, Immortal Shieldbow is very good for Yasuo. When you take a certain amount of damage, you will gain a shield for your troubles. You could go for the natural life steal from the Bloodthirster, but statistically, this is the best item for Yasuo in the fourth item slot.

Death’s Dance: Although Death’s Dance is classified as a defensive item for Yasuo, at this point in the game, you should have all the damage and attack speed in the world to handle anyone on Summoners Rift. Therefore it makes sense to add some defensive capabilities to the build.

Guardian Angel: This item is perfect for Yasuo, not only because it’s good on its own, but to stop Yasuo players from int’ing the game away. Guardian Angel provides both damage and defense for Yasuo. When he dies, and trust me he will even in the late game, be revived for a second opportunity to win the fight for his team.

Situational Items

Phantom Dancer: If you feel you still lack the necessary attack speed, then Phantom Dancer is for you. Phantom Dancer provides 60 percent attack speed, 25 percent critical strike, and 12 percent movement speed, which will go in hand with the other items that also provide movement speed. You would look to build this item fourth instead of the Immortal Shieldbow.

Lord Dominik’s Regards: Although Guardian Angel is an excellent item in the final slot, it is subjective. If you have everything you need and are not dying a lot but need an item to penetrate through the hearts of the tanky enemies, then Lord Dominik’s Regards is the item for you. It is recommended you build this in the final slot over Guardian Angel, but you may want to build its armor pen component earlier if you are having trouble getting through the tanks. Lord Dom’s provides 45 flat attack damage, 40 percent armor penetration, and 25 percent critical strike chance.
