A reworked Astral trait in Teamfight Tactics Set 7.5 Dragonlands Uncharted Realms provides players with economy, ability power, and Mage synergy.
A complete rework was applied to the Astral trait for Set 7.5 Dragonlands Uncharted Realms. The TFT team shifted the focus from a reroll comp to a vertical build with AP carriers and Astral orbs that provide loot based on the combined star level of Astral champions on your team. Breakpoints were also changed to 3/5/8.
Here are the new breakpoint ability power bonuses for the Astral trait in TFT Set 7.5:
- Three: Five ability power
- Five: 30 ability power
- Eight: 75 ability power
The Astral TFT 7.5 trait was once again adjusted for Patch 12.18, changing the quality offered through each orb so that players were offered item components and even full items earlier than before.
Set 7.5 TFT Astral trait
The reroll aspect of Astral units during Set Seven was hit or miss, often being nerfed for being too strong while also containing bugs that allowed players to cheat out Astral orbs and shops. Set 7.5 removes the Astral shop from the vertical comp, focusing on orbs instead while pumping ability power bonuses back into the trait.
How Astral orbs work
Astral orbs are provided based on the overall star level of Astral units on the board. Each star level counts toward the Astral table in TFT Set 7.5, with three two-star Astral champions counting as six on the table. The more star levels players have increases the quality of the loot provided from an Astral orb. Astral orbs appear after each combat round and can contain loot that ranges from gold and units to item components and full items.
The first version of the Astral orb table offered loot at “breakpoints,” or in groupings, with three to six star levels offering the same loot. Patch 12.18 changed that, providing a loot option for each star level, starting at three. For example, three one-star Astral units equal a star level of three. And Patch 12.19 adjusted the table slightly.
Here are the Astral loot rewards within TFT Set 7.5, according to game design director Stephen “Mortdog” Mortimer.

Patch 12.18 included another Astral update, removing copied Astral champions as counting toward the orb star level. Champions copied from Woodland Charm or Double Trouble no longer counted toward the Astral orb star level. Patch 12.19 then reworked the Astral table slightly, reducing the percentage of a champion while increasing the chance of getting a gold orb at star levels three to eight.
Who are the Astral champions in Set 7.5?
There are a total of six Astral champions within the Dragonlands Uncharted Realms Mid-Set: Skarner, Lux, Vladimir, Varus, Nidallee, and Aurelion Sol. Lux is a new addition to the Astral trait in Set 7.5, with the Mage trait in addition to Astral. Rerolling the two-cost champion is an option, using either Spear of Shojin or Blue Buff to increase her number of casts.
Varus returns for the Mid-Set update, still having the Swiftshot trait in conjunction with Astral. Similar to Set Seven, Varus is another reroll option with other Swiftshot units. Ideal items on Varus are still Runnan’s Hurricane and Guinsoo’s Rageblade.
Aurelion Sol remained the Astral dragon, synergizing with Mages and units that have the Evoker trait. Lux is a solid item-holder for the tier-five dragon, specifically with items like Spear of Shojin and Hextech Gunblade.
