Vivid, who played for the Los Angeles Guerrillas and Dallas Empire last season, has joined the Mutineers, the team announced today. With the signing of Vivid, Florida’s roster now includes six players: Vivid, Skyz, Havok, Owakening, Davpadie, and Yeez.

Florida promoted Havok to a starting position during the course of the 2021 season and he appeared to be slated to start for the Mutineers to begin the 2022 season. On Nov. 2, however, Washington Esports Ventures backed out of discussions to purchase a CDL franchise slot and create a team in Washington, D.C. Vivid had been a part of the rumored Washington roster, leaving him without a team. A day after the Washington franchise news was reported, Havok tweeted that he’s going to be playing in the Challengers circuit during the 2022 season.

If Havok does indeed begin the season in Challengers, the Mutineers will still have to make another decision regarding the starting roster. Owakening and Skyz were both a part of the Mutineers’ team in the 2020 season and would likely retain their starting positions while playing alongside Vivid.

Yeez joined Florida as a substitute in July but didn’t see any action in official matches. Florida extended his contract on Sept. 1, according to the CDL Player Tracker, and the team announced he would serve as the substitute on Oct. 6. The Mutineers also announced on Oct. 6 the signing of Davpadie, a 21-year-old player who’s exclusively competed in Challengers during the first two CDL seasons.
