KT Rolster surprised LCK and NA LCS fans today by unleashing fan-favorite jungler Lee “Rush” Yoon-jae in his first competitive game in over a year earlier today against the Afreeca Freecs.
KT signed Rush in December 2017, but fans patiently waited until the 90th match of the 2018 LCK Spring Split to finally see him make his KT debut. Rush last played for Cloud9’s challenger team in 2016 before returning to South Korea ahead of the 2016 Summer Split.
With their playoff spot already secured regardless of the result against Afreeca Freecs, KT decided to use Rush and mid laner Son “UcaL” Woo-hyeon today—and they still won 2-0.
In the second game, fans got a taste of Rush’s Lee Sin—a champion he’s known for playing in Korean solo queue. YouTubers have created hundreds of montage videos around Rush’s Lee Sin play, and it didn’t disappoint on the LCK stage.
KT were in the lead in the early game after a successful one-vs-one play by UcaL, forcing Afreeca’s mid laner, Lee “Kuro” Seo-haeng, to burn his flash in a failed escape attempt. This left Kuro wide open to a perfect gank from Rush moments later, giving UcaL his second kill.
Rush definitely played an integral part in the second game victory, as he went deathless and assisted in eight of KT’s 12 kills. But UcaL took center stage by completely demolishing Kuro in both games.
Rush threatened Afreeca Freecs for the entire match by helping his team pick up every objective. Afreeca Freecs struggled to get a single tower, giving KT an impressive victory in the second game to win the series.
With the final game in the LCK played, KINGZONE DragonX, Afreeca Freecs, KT Rolster, KSV Esports, and SK Telecom T1 will advance to the playoffs for a chance at representing Korea at MSI 2018 in Europe.

The first best-of-three between KSV and SKT will begin on March 31, and the next matches will follow four days later. The winner of KSV vs. SKT will face off against KT in the next round—where fans will want to see more of Rush on stage.
