Reason have been seeking a new Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team since losing the Danish squad that had assembled under the organization’s name earlier in the year.

The organization surprised the Counter-Strike scene today by acquiring one of their form players to helm the new team, Christofer “Helblinde” Nilsson.

The Swedish player made his name playing Counter-Strike: Source, and was actually a member of Reason Gaming four years ago.

Nilsson offered a statement on the team’s website following the announcement.

“Playing for Reason brings back so many fond memories,” he said. “I think we have a good mix of players willing to do the dirty work to become a good team, now it’s all about practice to reach a solid level.”

He will be joined by four fellow Swedes, including Frej “Khrystal” Sjostrom. Sjostrom built his reputation playing Counter-Strike 1.6 with such teams as SK Gaming and Lions.

Reason will hope to see better results from this interesting mix of new and returning Swedish talents than they had from their previous squad, a similarly talented Danish group that simply never gelled together.

The organization has already promised that the new team will be attending multiple live events during the remaining 2014 calendar of tournaments.
