Danish jungler Lucas “Santorin” Tao Kilmer Larsen will in fact join the team, over one month after the Daily Dot initially reported SoloMid had made an offer to the player.

One of the top challenger junglers in Europe at the start of the year, Larsen moved to America to play for Team Coast after Cloud9 Eclipse failed to qualify for the League Championship Series. When Maurice “Amazing” Stückenschneider left SoloMid to return home to Europe, Larsen seemed like a natural replacement due to his solid mechanics and playmaking ability.

Wooing Larsen away from Coast wasn’t necessarily an easy task, even for a storied organization like SoloMid, considering the challenger team is not shy about spending money to bolster the roster. Larsen leaving Coast left them in a bit of a bind, forcing them to relinquish their seed in the LCS Expansion Tournament.

Larsen joins Team SoloMid after spending weeks trialing with the squad, much of it at the SoloMid team house. The jungler will debut with his new team in one week at Intel Extreme Masters San Jose.
