Jeffrey “Trump” Shih has been a figurehead in Hearthstone for about as long as the game’s been around. But despite his popularity and stature, he’s never won a major event. That all changed this weekend.

Shih took home the title at the HTC Recharged tournament Sunday. Defeating Jan “Ekop” Palys of Cloud9 and CompLexity‘s David “Dog” Caero on his way to victory, Shih took down open qualifier “nugoory” of South Korea 3-1 in the final to take home $2,500. The win is also the first for a player representing Team SoloMid in Hearthstone.

Shih is not the only veteran personality to register his first win this year so far, with Sebastian “Forsen” Fors and Andrey “Reynad” Yanyuk also winning tournaments in recent months.

Shih previously competed tournaments like the Blizzcon 2013 Innkeeper’s Invitational, two Seat Story Cups, and a host of other top events, but never managed to win it all.
