The lone Finnish player on the legendary Swedish Counter-Strike team has departed the team following the Fragbite Masters Season 5 finals, that last event of 2015. Jalli initially joined the team in February before the ESL One Katowice event, replacing Mikail “Maikelele” Bill on what was initially a trial basis.

In what the team called a “bumpy” 2015, Jalli and the rest of the NiP side reached the finals of ESL Katowice and two Gfinity Masters events but failed to win any major international trophies.

The player announced his departure on Twitter over the weekend.

The move was later confirmed by the team in a statement.

“Through the year [Jalli] has shown himself to be one of the best players in the world,” the team said. “with many incredible performances for the Ninjas. As we close 2015 we thank Aleksi “allu” Jalli for his contribution during his time at Ninjas in Pyjamas and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.”

Though there have been rumors of Jalli forming a new team comprised of fellow Finnish players, his future is very much unknown at this stage. The rest of the Ninjas in Pyjamas squad will be available when their contracts expire on Dec. 31.
