Korean titan SK Telecom T1, who won the Riot Games World Championship in both 2013 and 2015, took down Europe’s Fnatic in a dominant 3-0 sweep today. The final game of the series ended in a surrender after a brutal 22-minute beatdown where Fnatic was clearly outmatched.

Prior to taking down Fnatic, SK Telecom T1 went undefeated in their group and took down Team SoloMid 3-0 in the semifinals. Today top laner Lee “Duke” Ho-seong and AD carry Bae “Bang” Jun-sik showed incredible performances on a number of champions.

Substitute jungler Kang “Blank” Sun-gu also had a consistent and strong performance, which may have him see playtime over long-time veteran Bae “Bengi” Seong-woong back home in the League Champions Korea (LCK).

While the team’s victory is impressive, the tournament means very little in the overall scheme of League competition. Aside from China’s Qiao Gu Reapers and Royal Never Give Up, none of the region’s current top teams were represented at the tournament. In fact, SK Telecom T1 themselves hold sixth place in the LCK at the moment.

Now SK Telecom will return home and look to climb back up the ladder against stiff competition, spearheaded by Korea’s best, the ROX Tigers—who are currently undefeated in the league and in incredible form.

But jungler Kang Sun-gu may be the answer to SK Telecom’s issues as his champion pool is better serviced in this meta, in comparison to Bae Seong-woong’s. SK Telecom’s next series on Friday will pit them against Afreeca Freecs, who currently sit at eighth in the league.
