Maikelele to play in new all-Swedish CS:GO roster

The AWPer was recently seen standing in for Ninjas in Pyjamas.

After a tumultuous year, one of Sweden’s most established Counter-Strike: Global Offensive players has settled into a team once again.

Mikail “Maikelele” Bill, who spent the start of 2016 competing with FaZe Clan and later on with Ninjas in Pyjamas as a stand-in, is the centerpiece of the new team qwerty—a roster featuring former Counter Logic Gaming coach Faruk “pita” Pita, Fredrik “slap” Junbrant, Simon “atter” Atterstam, as well as John “wenton” Eriksson.

“We have a great mix of individuals with different skill sets, as well as a great work ethic,” Wenton told HLTV. He also commented that both Maikelele and himself wanted to get qwerty off the ground as early as July this year, but due to Maikelele filling in for NiP and wenton joining Fnatic, the project was put on hold.

But now that neither Wenton or Maikelele are signed to different teams they could revive qwerty. Wenton seemed certain that the team would be able to compete with the best, saying: “With pita taking on the leader-role within the team I’m certain that Sweden can bring another top contending team into the scene.”

For Maikelele, who is currently the most merited player on qwerty, this will be the first time in roughly eight months that he’s settled on a team since departing FaZe Clan on Apr. 10. While not having had its competitive debut just yet, the team is looking to sign with an organization in the near future.

Swedish CS:GO is currently in a volatile state with many of its best teams struggling. Qwerty’s arrival on the scene could make for some more interesting results in the near future.
