Cloud9 gave fans some to cheer about after a questionable roster change earlier this week with a win today against TSM.

C9 received a ton of backlash from fans after the organization decided to let go of popular support Andy “Smoothie” Ta. With the doubtful eyes of the community focused on them this week, Cloud9 knew that a win today was necessary in order to begin rebuilding trust with their fans.

And leading Cloud9 in their win today was surprisingly their new rookie jungler, Robert “Blaber” Huang. On Kindred, Blaber had a stranglehold over the early game.

From his control over the dragon pit to his successful early ganks in the top lane, Blaber set up his teammates for success. But Blaber’s impressive play didn’t end after the laning phase. During teamfights, Blaber was on point with his Lamb’s Respite, buying enough time for Cloud9 to successfully counter TSM’s attempts to engage.

Despite Blaber’s impressive early jungling, Cloud9 came into the mid game just lower than TSM in gold score. This slight deficit arose from Cloud9 being behind TSM in turrets taken. But Cloud9 were sure to make up for their macro play fumbles.

All it took was a successful fight at Baron for Cloud9 to grab full control of the match. Now with the gold lead thanks to the kills they earned from TSM, in addition to the Baron buff, Cloud9 were nearly unstoppable. Between the insane tankiness of Cloud9 top laner Eric “Licorice” Ritchie’s Dr. Mundo and Blaber being quick to make his team immortal as Kindred, C9 were too tanky for TSM to take down.

With TSM defeated, Cloud9 will prepare for their next match against Echo Fox on July 29.
