Yesterday, UMG Events, LLC. announced that its Call of Duty World League – Challenge Division sanctioned event, UMG South Carolina 2016, will feature a $100,000 prize pool. The tournament will be UMG’s first for Call of Duty®: Black Ops III.

UMG South Carolina, hosted at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center, will be the first open bracket major event that requires players to be 18 years of age or older. It’ll be interesting to see how this adult-only tournament takes place, with not only amateur teams competing, but also the entirety of the professional Call of Duty teams from the “Pro Division” of CWL.

Worth noting that league teams from the Pro Division cannot earn CWL points at a Challenge Division event, which is a reasonable regulation. However, they can continue to compete for the first-place title, along with the impressive $100,000 prize pool. According to UMG, this prize pool will guarantee $30,000 alone, to the top open bracket teams. UMG has never hosted any competitive gaming event with this much prize money at stake.
