This was definitely not an easy event for them. Although they may have been facing mostly amateur teams, there was a lot of pressure on OpTic this time around and no one knows what would have happened if they were to have lost. OpTic’s captain, FlameSword, impressed this tournament. Being more of a support player for this slaying minded team, FlameSword at many occasions was able to save his teammates from dangerous situations by making incredible plays and staying alive. In the past, many were concerned with FlameSword’s general performance in qualifiers, he always seemed to not be able to slay enough which made many feel like he was holding his team back. With a performance this big in a tournament this important, he has definitely proven to all of us why he is the captain of OpTic Halo. The support that the Green Wall showed on FlameSword’s stream was equally as impressive. Flamesword was able to draw in over 24,000 thousand viewers, which is more than we’ve seen in a long time. Support this big must have given the team the much needed confidence to pull through in this Qualifier. Many were astonished in how this new OpTic team looks. We knew that they were definitely hungry to win this last tournament, but no one could have predicted that OpTic would have been this dominant. This is undeniably a good sign for the squad and hopefully they are able to improve even more for Regionals. This was clearly a great win for the Green Wall and hopefully the team celebrates accordingly. With Regionals right around the corner, however, they’ll needs to get as much practice as possible so that they are prepared for whatever comes their way. It can only get harder for them from here and, being only the 16th seeded team, they are undoubtedly going to have a tough time getting to the World Championship Finals. The roster for this new OpTic Gaming team is FlameSword, Maniac, Chaser and LifeStyle. What do you think about OpTic qualifying for Regionals? Do you think this will give them a big boost of momentum coming into Regionals?
