ENCE eSports has announced its entrance into Overwatch.
The roster was officially formed after a trial period and is formed of six Finnish players. The roster is as follows:
- Mikael “SKYTRiXSHA” Silvennoinen (DPS)
- Samuli “BAITO” Karppinen (DPS)
- Ville “Trickwide” Saastamoinen (Support)
- Riku “Ripa” Toivanen (Support)
- Ville “Desperado” Palmu (Flex)
- Roni “lhcloudy” Tiihonen (Tank)
In the announcement, in-game leader Trickwide seemed confident in the new team, stating that “the team is not lacking ambition” and aims for ENCE Overwatch to be “recognized in the international scene.” For the team’s first showing at the upcoming Assembly Winter 2017 in Helsinki, Finland, Trickwide expects the team to have a top-three finish.
Team coach Samuli “Elfi” Sihvonen has “huge trust in young talents” and focused building the team around potential, rather than immediate skill level.
The team’s first test will be at Assembly Winter 2017 at the beginning of February, and there we will find out if Trickwide’s faith in his teammates is immediately justfied. If things go wrong early, the team will likely stick it out since Elfi’s plans aim toward a long-term goal.
