Early Game: SSG put Splyce in Their Place

Even with Splyce’s strong early game champions, they couldn’t manage to gain enough footing to make use of their comp. They were constantly behind in gold and couldn’t close kills out, even with a numbers advantage. SSG found a way to punish them in every decision they made and even forced them off every objective, including towers.

Mid Game: Dragon Control and Dominating Fights

With SSG’s huge power advantage over Splyce, they brute-forced their way deep into their base. Slowly, they pushed down the towers in every lane. Along the way, they managed to get kill after kill, leaving Splyce starving for any sort of resource they could get their hands on.

Late Game: SSG Seal the Deal with Baron

Leaving Splyce to defend their base, SSG took Baron and forced Splyce to fight or die. Unfortunately, Splyce died, a lot. SSG created such a strong lead that Splyce had nothing to do but run into them and die, which gave SSG easy pickings on the Nexus. SSG beat their previous record for the quickest win at Worlds, winning in 23 minutes and 34 seconds.

SSG is now 5-1 and Splyce is 1-5. With this win, SSG secured the first seed in Group D.
