Team Allegiance exits competitive Halo

The runners-up to the 2016 Halo World Championships are out.

A year after placing second in the Halo World Championships, and just 17 months after forming, Team Allegiance is leaving competitive Halo.

Owner Conner “InStiiNcT” Hall broke the news late last night. “Our vision in Halo doesn’t align any longer with the future plans for the competitive scene,” Hall wrote.

After losing to CLG at Worlds in 2016—a tournament that, at the time, boasted the largest prize pool in FPS history—the team lost several key players, including Carlos “Cratos” Ayala, Brett “Naded” Leonard, and Ayden “Suspector” Hill. The last player on that team, Visal “eL ToWn” Mohana, left a few weeks later, forcing the organization to completely rebuild.

Then, earlier this month, the team failed to qualify for the 2017 World Championships.

Spartan and TriPPPeY have announced their free agency, making it likely that Commonly and Suspector will go their separate ways as well, leaving no remaining players of the former Allegiance team.

Due to our success the first year it gave us the opportunity to expand into new games that were larger than Halo, and for that I’ll always remember Halo as the place that started it all,” Hall wrote. “I’m extremely grateful and wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.”
