After Roccat pulled off a shocking upset against G2 Esports Fnatic were left with it all to do against Misfits.

Roccat, who started the season 0-7, have staged a remarkable comeback to resuscitate their season. Finishing the season with a six match undefeated streak, the underdogs were the only team able to beat G2 Esports also season long in their final match.

That left Roccat one win ahead of Fnatic in the race for the final playoff spot, leaving Fnatic needing to beat high flying Misfits to overtake them.

Misfits took game one, and the 8-4 team looked set to shut down the once legendary side. However Fnatic fought back to level the series, and in a triumphant final performance ran through Misfits to take the 2-1 series victory.

The victory left both Roccat and Fnatic on 6-7 for the split, but a slightly superior game score difference means Fnatic dash Roccat’s hopes of an improbable run to the playoffs.

Fnatic will meet H2k-Gaming in the first round of the playoffs, with Splyce and Misfits meeting on the other side of the bracket. The winners will advance to face Unicorns of Love and G2 Esports respectively.
