Susie Kim, the former general manager of the London Spitfire in the Overwatch League and current director of youth esports education and training at Cloud9, has left the organization to “explore different options” in esports, she announced earlier today.

In early 2018, Kim joined Cloud9 as the general manager of the London Spitfire. The team quickly rose in the rankings during the inaugural season of the Overwatch League, culminating in a historic victory over the Philadelphia Fusion in July 2018 to claim league’s first season championship.

Earlier this year, Kim moved to a different position with Cloud9, director of youth esports education and training role at Cloud9. In this role, she created a youth program aimed at engaging young people who are interested in esports.

“I cherish my time and my growth with the company, but the time has come for me to depart,” Kim said in her Twitter announcement. Kim said that she is taking time off to “reassess” her career goals and explore other options within esports.

Kim is a veteran of the esports scene, having spent over a decade engaging with fans and covering numerous titles. She began her esports career by creating community initiatives for StarCraft fans before working as a translator and interviewer for South Korean broadcaster OGN. Kim also worked for Twitch before joining the Overwatch League.
