League’s newest set of World Champion skins are here, and they look out of this world

After months of waiting, we finally get our first look at the Samsung Galaxy skins.

Riot Games revealed PBE previews for the newest set of World Championship skins on social media today.

Ezreal, Gnar, Taliyah, Jarvan IV, Xayah, and Rakan will each be getting a new skin to commemorate Samsung Galaxy’s triumph over SKT at last year’s Worlds.

Each skin features a custom recall animation that is based off motions acted out by the players. While they all look out of this world, some are a little confusing. For example, why does Jarvan hold a bat in his? It seemingly has no relation to Kang “Ambition” Chan-yongs actions.

This will be the second set of Samsung skins, though the colors are slightly different. The first set was for the Samsung White roster that dominated the 2014 World Championships and emphasizes white more than blue. In the newly revealed ones for Samsung Galaxy, blue plays a much larger role.

The Samsung White Worlds skins

This year’s skins are also much higher quality compared to ones from years past, following the precedent set by last year’s SKT skins. Prior to those, Worlds skins had no custom recall animations or new particles.

A new Hextech skin was also revealed alongside the Samsung skins, this time for Poppy.

Like the other Hextech skins before it, this one will likely only be obtainable through Hextech Crafting. It stands to reason Poppy’s new look will be available in exchange for 10 gemstones or as a reward for rerolling three other skin shards.

While none of the skins are currently on the PBE, expect them to be released for testing either later today or tomorrow.
