Finnish Overwatch fans are in for a treat, as ASUS ROG will host an invitational Overwatch tournament at Assembly Summer in Helsinki, Finland next month.
The European tournament will be held at Finland’s computer festival, Assembly, from Aug. 3 to 4. Eight Overwatch teams will be invited to compete to their share of a $9,500 prize pool. It’s not the biggest prize pool we’ve seen, but still a welcome competition—especially if teams that failed to qualify for Overwatch Contenders Season One are invited.
Two Finnish Overwatch teams have already accepted invitations to compete in the tournament: Rest in Pyjamas and ENCE Esports. ASUS is not covering travel and accommodation for its tournament entrants, so it’s unlikely we’ll see competitors from far outside Finland.

The final six Overwatch teams to compete in the ROG Tournament have not been announced by ASUS.
English and Finnish streams will be available, but the tournament will also welcome a live audience at the Helsinki Exhibition and Convention Center in Finland. The double-elimination group stage will begin on Aug. 3. The tournament will conclude on Aug. 4 with the semifinals and final matches.
Finnish Overwatch players will have their time to shine during Group D of the Overwatch World Cup, which is scheduled to compete from July 20 to 22 in Australia, shortly before ASUS ROG’s Overwatch tournament.
