How to fix ‘content failed to load’ error in Ark Survival Ascended

There's a problem with the Ark.

If you’ve been trying to play Ark Survival Ascended’s Aberration content but have encountered the ‘content failed to load’ error, I’m here to report both good and bad news, including an update on a fix.

Ark: Survival Ascended’s Aberration DLC has been a long time coming and is the next step in the overarching ASA roadmap. Aberration adds a wealth of new content, including Plant Species Z seeds and the tamable Yi Ling.

Unfortunately, many players have also had to experience the troubles of the “content failed to load” error, interrupting gameplay and proving to be a disturbance.

You can’t manually fix the “content failed to load” error, but the issue has been identified as a CurseForge error and has now been rectified.

CurseForge is the “home for legendary mods” and handles Ark’s modded and private servers. On Sept. 8, CurseForge acknowledged the error with a message on X (formerly TWitter), “We’re experiencing some unusual issues with our servers which affects our website and online modding services (ARK). Our team is hard at work trying to identify the problem and deploy a solution, and we will update you as soon as possible.”

Less than an hour later, the CurseForge X account posted a new (more positive) message to alert the community: “The issue has been identified, and we are working on a fix.”

Players eagerly waited for news of a new update, and thankfully, CurseForge issued this statement only a handful of hours after notifying the community of the issue: “Website and server fixed. Thank you so much for your patience! The team has finished deploying a fix, and activity is returning to normal.”

The error was out of the players’ hands and there was no official solution for the “content failed to load” error other than to be patient and wait it out. Here’s hoping you don’t need to see the error message pop up again and Aberration can run smoothly.

You can move on now and zone in on Ark content, such as going through the entire Aberration dino list and taming them all! While you do that, be sure you know how to get Oil in Aberration, as it’s a handy resource.
