Destiny gets temporary ban from r/LivestreamFail for posting Game of Thrones spoilers

"I started DMing them leaks from the next few episodes of Game of Thrones."

Popular Twitch streamer Steven “Destiny” Bonnell received a temporary ban from the LivestreamFail subreddit today after messaging and posting Game of Thrones spoilers.

Moderator ImNATT announced the decision in a post on r/LivestreamFail. “Purposefully grifting the subreddit is not the way to go about a disagreement Steven,” the post reads. “You should know that. How long this ban will last is yet to be determined.”

Destiny’s controversy began yesterday when he started sending personal messages and commenting Game of Thrones spoilers to r/LivestreamFail users.

Several threads were started showing posts from Destiny’s Reddit account spoiling massive plot developments for the remainder of the worldwide phenomenon’s final season.

It appears that it originally started as only personal messages for just individual users to see, but then evolved into public comments that anyone who stumbled on the thread would have to read.

Some of this malicious spoiling was done live on stream yesterday.

In his own words during an appearance on RajjPatel’s podcast yesterday, Destiny began doing this in retaliation for people talking bad about him on r/LSF for tweeting Avengers: Endgame spoilers a few weeks ago.

“So now like if people are gonna say that I’m this huge dick that spoils everything, I’m like, ‘oh fuck, then I’ll just do it,'” Destiny said. “So I started DMing people that were like writing shitty comments about me, I started DMing them leaks from the next few episodes of Game of Thrones.”

Destiny was already a polarizing figure in the Twitch community due to his embrace of political discussion and debate on his streams, but a controversy like this certainly isn’t going to do him any favors.
