Not forgotten: Looks like Alucard is coming to Dead By Daylight after all

Take the fight to your father.

The reveal of the Castlevania DLC in Dead by Daylight left many fans confused about the whereabouts of Dracula’s son Alucard—but a new announcement has seemingly finally unveiled the half-vampire’s involvement.

Dead by Daylight‘s upcoming Castlevania DLC includes a Survivor named Trevor Belmont, a hunter who tasks himself with hunting down Dracula, the ultimate vampire. In a roadmap released by the game’s developers this week, it appears Trevor will receive a legendary skin that alters his appearance to look like Alucard.

In Dead by Daylight, legendary skins are expensive cosmetics that completely change a Survivor or Killer into a new character without influencing their gameplay mechanics. These legendary tier cosmetics are typically saved for crossovers with different franchises, such as Stranger Things or Resident Evil, mainly to include multiple characters at once.

This means you’ll have to buy both the DLC and the Alucard cosmetic to play as Dracula’s son, and Alucard won’t come with any unique perks. As always, all legendary cosmetics cost 1,485 auric cells, or just about $15 USD.

The roadmap also showcases smaller events coming to DBD in the weeks before the DLC. Players who buy the battle pass will be happy to know a Fragment Frenzy is starting on Aug. 14, which is going to make completing the pass faster. A week later, matches will reward double EXP from Aug. 21 to Aug. 27.

Following the release of the roadmap, fans of both DBD and Castlevania have shared their excitement on X (formerly Twitter) about the half-vampire’s involvement. One fan was ecstatic that their favorite character was finally “coming home.” Meanwhile, another shared they’re looking forward to any future Castlevania collaborations and said they’re hopeful the developers will include the vampire Carmilla as a Killer.

While it’s unfortunate Alucard did not get unique perks, everyone’s thankful he made it to DBD in some way. If you want to buy the skin, get ready for the DLC on Aug. 27.
