There are several solid options available to Shadow Lugia that you may want to consider. Although there are multiple choices, there’s a clear winner whenever you compare it to other Legendary Pokémon it could face off against. Here’s what you need to know about giving Shadow Lugia the best moveset in Pokémon Go.

Shadow Lugia is one of the stronger Legendary Pokémon you can use in Pokémon Go. The best moves to teach it are fast move Dragon Tail and the charged moves Sky Attack and Aeroblast. Of these moves, only Lugia can learn Aeroblast, making it a must-have grab if you want to use the strongest version of this Pokémon after beating it in Shadow Raids.

For its fast moves, Shadow Lugia can only learn to use Dragon Tail or Extrasensory. Dragon Tail is the superior option as it does more damage than Extrasensory. Although Extrasensory does give Shadow Lugia more energy for its charged attacks, the damage from Dragon Tail and its super effectiveness against Dragon-type Pokémon make it better. You should expect to face off against more Dragon-types in the Master League.

When picking Shadow Lugia’s charged moves, there are multiple choices. These are all the charged moves Shadow Lugia can learn in Pokémon Go:

  • Aeroblast (Flying-type)
  • Frustration (Normal-type)
  • Future Sight (Psychic-type)
  • Hydro Pump (Water-type)
  • Sky Attack (Flying-type)

Aeroblast and Sky Attack are the best choices among these options. The downside is they’re both Flying-type moves. But they’re the strongest options for Shadow Lugia. Aeroblast is Lugia’s signature move, making it a must-have, but you can only teach it to Lugia at certain times. Alternatively, Future Sight is a decent option to swap out for it, so long as you have Sky Attack as the second charged move. It’s better not to teach Shadow Lugia how to use Hydro Pump or Frustration in Pokémon Go.

Is Shadow Lugia good in Pokémon Go?

When it comes to using Shadow Lugia in the Master League, it’s a very solid choice, but the standard version is far better. The Shadow Lugia has an increased attack power, but its defenses go down, which makes defeating it easier whenever you use it in battle. If you do catch a Shadow Lugia, we’d recommend you purify it for the standard version, as the normal Lugia is a far more fearsome threat against players in Pokémon Go.
