The fighting game is based on the Dragon Ball manga series by Akira Toriyama. The game was revealed as part of Microsoft’s E3 press conference in June and has been rising in popularity ever since due to its engaging controls and amazing visuals.

Piccolo

Piccolo is a namekian and was once one of the main antagonists in the Dragon Ball universe before becoming a good guy in Dragon Ball Z. Piccolo is a fan favorite character and his inclusion into the roster was expected from the start.

In the game, Piccolo is described as a technical fighter that can attack from a distance with his extendable arms (think Dhalsim from Street Fighter). His main abilities allow him to break an opponent’s guard by firing fast and powerful beams. Piccolo can also charge his attacks by pressing the button for a long period of time, dealing more damage if the move connects.

Krillin

Krillin is the best friend of main character Goku, having trained with him since they were children. Krillin is a long-range fighter and struggles to fight close-up with opponents.

Bandai has stated that Krillin is a skillful fighter that can confuse his opponents by leaving an image of himself behind to act as a decoy, giving him time to get some range on an enemy. He also has a healing ability while in ranged to annoy his foes.

Bandai has also released details on the online mode for the game. Players will be able to fight and interact with other players in an online lobby, using a small chibi version of a Dragon Ball character as their main avatar to move around the lobby.

Players will be able to interact with other avatars to battle, communicate, and watch replays of their best matches together when the game comes out in 2018.

Both Krillin and Piccolo will join Trunks, Goku, Gohan, Vegeta, Frieza, Buu, and Perfect Cell in the closed beta of the game sometime this year. Sign-ups for the beta will be open from July 26.
