Yet another Overwatch roster is potentially exiting the scene.
North American esports organization eUnited, which fields a European Overwatch roster, posted an update to its website on Sept. 15, writing the Overwatch roster will not be participating in the first season of the Overwatch League. The roster remains under contract with eUnited as negotiations with other teams begin.

“We still maintain a very active and healthy relationship with Activision Blizzard and plan to continue to support Overwatch and the vision that Blizzard has created,” eUnited general manager Daniel Clerke said.
The eUnited Overwatch roster was once renowned as the region’s best, though they recently fell from grace and are currently 0-4 in Overwatch Contenders. It’s extremely unlikely the roster will make it to the tournament’s playoffs, given their results thus far. They will, however, continue to compete as eUnited until they find new organizations.
Many Overwatch teams have disbanded ahead of the upcoming Overwatch League. With a limited number of slots and an expensive buy-in, many organizations simply couldn’t sustain a roster. The Overwatch League is scheduled to kick off later this year. The first season will be held in Los Angeles, while subsequent seasons will eventually move worldwide.
Correction 12:30pm, Sept. 15: Dot Esports incorrectly called eUnited a European organization. EUnited is North American organization with a European Overwatch roster. The article has been edited to reflect this information. We regret the error.
