Ubisoft survey hints at future Rainbow Six Siege battle royale mode, new title

To worry, or not to worry?

A survey sent out by Ubisoft may have hinted at a new Rainbow Six game, and it also had a few questions that have some fans worried.

The survey started with innocuous questions revolving around past seasonal events but gave a little shock by asking players if they enjoy Battle Royale games.

And while there’s nothing inherently wrong with BR games, it is worrying that the mode appears in a survey about Siege. Ubisoft’s breakout esport title is just about as far as it gets from a BR title, and it’s nearly impossible to see the mode fit in anywhere in the game.

Thankfully, the survey’s purpose is to gather player feedback. If fans are concerned about the potential addition of a BR mode, then they should be sure to check their inboxes and fill out the survey if they are given access.

The survey also proposed the scenario of Ubisoft releasing an all-new Rainbow Six title. Ubisoft asked players how much value they would place on a new R6 game, what players would consider a bargain, what would be too high a price, and what prices make players question a game’s quality. There are no big hints at what fans might get from Ubisoft in the future, but this indicates that the company is weighing its options.

Given that Ubisoft has a 100-plus operator goal for Siege, it would be unlikely that the potential new title would be a sequel. It’s more likely that Ubisoft is looking at expanding the brand after the building success of the franchise.

It’s also worth noting that Ubisoft sent out a similar survey after the release of Assassin’s Creed Origins that included the option of Rome as a potential setting. It’s fair to say that Ubisoft takes these surveys relatively seriously, seeing as Assassin’s Creed Odyssey ended up being set in Rome.
