A second leak detailing Rainbow Six Siege Y4S2 operators has appeared. The leak originally comes from a since-deleted Reddit post. It gives us new details on the Danish and American operators’ loadouts, names, and further information about their abilities.
The post indicated that the Danish attacker’s name will be Phantom. Phantom’s cloaking ability is rumored to be usable up to three times during a match, with Mute as her only counter. But, as YouTube creator coreross pointed out, this doesn’t really constitute a counter. If anything, it would be a soft-counter, given that Mute can’t actively do anything to counter Phantom’s ability. Maybe it’ll be similar to walking into a Mute jammer’s AOE after a Dokkaebi call comes in, but with an adverse effect for the attacker. Mute may have to forego his team utility in order to strategize against Phantom’s cloaking ability, which doesn’t seem like a smart move at all.
The post also claims that Phantom’s loadout will consist of the IM Galil and a Scar similar to Blackbeard’s, but with some kind of new scope. The non-removable scope fits with Ubisoft’s current habit of giving certain operators access to enhanced optics, like Kaid or Gridlock. The attacker is also said to carry breaches or a claymore for utility. Phantom will be from the Danish Frogmen unit, according to the leak.
Rogue will supposedly be the American defender’s name. The American defender may have access to a specialized silenced P90SD, the MP-54, as well as the KSG-12 shotgun. The P90SD would be the most interesting addition here—not only because it reminds us of Echo’s MP5SD, but because the P90SD would also have a new non-removable scope. It’s interesting that the leak gives so many details on loadouts and abilities, but fails to mention what sidearms the operators will be able to use.
Perhaps the most interesting part of the Reddit post is the claim that because of Rogue’s ability to see through smokes, flashes, and even Ying’s Candelas, Ying will now be seeing a change. It seems odd that Ubisoft would make a change to revolve around one character, but there have been rumors that Ying is due for alterations, as well as Frost. If anything, we think that this Ying change just coincidentally falls in line with the release of Rogue and doesn’t really indicate a correlation equals causation effect.
The post ends with the user saying that they’ll delete their account. Leaks are always fun to entertain, even if they end up being wrong. We all love a good leak, and while this one has some details missing, it does seem to fall in line with the first leak. It’d be good to see some leaked screens in the near future to further support the leaks we’ve gotten so far—but that may be a tall order. Either way, we’re just as excited for these operators as we were for Mozzie and Gridlock when they were leaked before the Year 4 launch.
