Cloud9, one of the top-three teams in North America, has made some big roster changes to their Overwatch roster. Today, the organization announced via their website that they have added three new players to the starting roster. The team made these last minute changes before BlizzCon.
The organization decided to bench Greg “Grego” McAllen, Derrick “reaver” Nowicki, and Kevin “deBett” deBettencourt. Cloud9 stated in their announcement “[The players] are spending their time this offseason to discuss what their plans will be moving forward.” The following players have been picked up, and put in the starting roster: Lucas “Mendokusaii” Håkansson, Ruben “ryb” Ljungdahl, and Randal “Roolf” Stark.
The players Cloud9 has picked up all have past experience on high level teams. Mendokusaii, the team’s new starting DPS, was formerly on SK Gaming, IDDQD, and FaZe. Next up on the list is ryb, the team’s new starting tank, who was formerly on Misfits and a part of the team who upset Team EnVyUs in the ELEAGUE Overwatch Open. Last, but not least, Roolf, the team’s new starting healer, was formerly on Method, who showed what they were made of at the ELEAGUE Overwatch Open.
