Momir is unlike any regulation format in Magic: The Gathering. It doesn’t require a deck and creatures are chosen randomly from the MTG Arena library. “Each turn, click on Momir on the left side of your battlefield, pay X mana, and discard a card to create a random token copy of creature from all of MTG Arena with converted cost X.”

In the War of the Spark Chronicles, Ravnica at War (Momir), players are given 12 copies of the five color basic lands and one of each 36 planeswalkers from War of the Spark. Normally, a Momir hand consists of only lands. With the addition of planeswalkers, the strategy behind discarding and drawing tokens for random creatures changes.

A one drop in Momir still isn’t as important as a two drop, unless you’re taking an Aggro approach. Due to the number of planeswalkers in three and four drop spots, however, they’ll determine whether to go for a token creature or hold onto the hand.

The War of the Spark Chronicles is free-to-play for all MTG Arena players, and unlike in previous special tournaments, there’s no record of losses.

All rewards from War of the Spark Chronicles are card styles of a stained-glass planeswalker. These aren’t actual cards, just merely cosmetic additions. In Part one: Ravnica at War, there are three styles players can earn.

Three wins awards the Vraska, Swarm’s Eminence stained-glass card style, followed by Tibalt, Rakish Instigator at nine wins. Make it to 15 wins and get a Jace, Wielder of Mysteries stained-glass card style for Magic: The Gathering Arena.

In addition to stained-glass card styles in the three, nine, and 15 win spots, the six and 12 win slots will contain gold rewards. Since there’s no record of losses during the War of the Spark Chronicles events, players can grind all week long for 15 wins without having to start over at one. Each week, the wins will reset with a new event over a five-week period.
