Milwaukee Bucks co-owner Wesley Edens will be launching the FlyQuest esports brand in the coming weeks, according to a report from ESPN.
The group looks to take over Cloud9 Challenger’s spot in the North American League Championship Series, keeping the original roster except for a missing jungler. FlyQuest will not be entering any other esports at this time.
FlyQuest has acquired the LCS spot for $2.5 million, with $700,000 of that total going toward buying out the contracts of four of Cloud9 Challenger’s players. The team has come to agreements with top laner An “Balls” Van Le, mid laner Hai “Hai” Du Lam, AD carry Johnny “Altec” Ru, and support Daerek “LemonNation” Hart, according to sources. At the time of writing, the team is still in search of a jungler.
We will just have to wait and see when the brand is officialy revealed, but with the NA LCS only a couple of weeks away, let us hope we do not need to wait much longer.
