All these fruits and vegetables come with a chapter, so you can choose your villain at the start of the round and play their spooky round to attempt to outrun them.

The Night at Pizzeria

If you’re looking to get that adrenaline rush and face jumpscares, there is no better map than The Night at Pizzeria, inspired by the Five Nights At Freddy’s games. The objective is simple: Keep a strict vigilance on the security cameras and monitor any activity in the Pizzeria. Now, you will have a battery percentage on the top of your screen you can use to turn on the light and strategically shut down doors on your sides to prevent the monsters from coming to your cabin.

This has to be one of the finest narrative experiences I’ve had in Fortnite while playing horror maps and it is truly a marvel. The Dark Ritual takes place in a small town where you start your journey at a gas station and start finding out about black magic there. After that, you discover creepy dolls and meet a cop who is into black magic, and he puts you in jail.

So, if you prefer knowing about a story to feel immersed, this is it, and you can get a good mix of gameplay and storytelling in this one.

Barbie Escape

If you thought horror games could only be dark and gritty, think again. The Barbie Escape takes place in the vibrant world of Barbie, and it is a different kind of horror. It all starts after you look for a perfect gift in a store and end up choosing the Barbie box. Little do you know, that box transports you to the Barbie world, and you’re looking for answers to leave a scary yet beautiful place.

Your objective remains the same as any other escape horror game: find clues, solve them, and use your weapons to shoot down evil Barbies to finally leave the box.

The Forest –  Horror Escape

Inspired by the game The Forest, this horror map puts you as a lost survivor in the middle of the forest trying to escape after your car crashes in the woods. Now, while finding your shelter for the night, you must avoid monsters trying to hunt you down.

After locating a wooden cabin in The Forest – Horror Escap, you will have to turn on switches and stay clear of the monster roaming the building to jump into a portal. After the portal, you will enter the next part of the map, where you will have many jumpscares and the ability to restore power to avoid the monster. The map is beautifully designed and one of the most detailed maps you will see in this list, which adds to the creepy feeling of roaming the forest or the wooden cabin. 

Billy

Billy is one of the newest iconic characters to get added to this year’s Fortnitemares. The famous SAW scene from the movie has been recreated on this map with a little twist: Billy himself chases you out of the screen. You can play this map with up to three friends. Everyone has to turn generators on, find symbols, and solve other mysteries.

The map’s atmosphere feels surreal. You’ll have quite a few moments where you must hide under the bed from Billy or scratch your head to find all the missing symbols, but it’s a very exhilarating experience. 

Murder Mystery

The Murder Mystery is a bit of light-hearted horror for people looking for a casual alternative to the heavy titles on the list. It follows the Among Us-themed gameplay where two random players in the lobby are assigned roles of a Sheriff and Murderer while others are Survivors. The sepia tone of the mode brings out a mature flavor, which helps the game stand out from other dark horror titles. It also amplifies its horror using sound, even better if you use headphones.

The Caves

Here is a mixture of Claustrophobia and Arachnophobia. The Caves is a third-person horror map where you travel to explore the dark caves. You must use your torch to light your surroundings and solve small puzzles to find your exit from the caves to the surface. 

After overcoming these challenges, you will soon realize a huge spider is staying in the cave, and you will need to escape from it to leave the cave. You must use the items in your inventory to help you escape. 

The Bigfoot

Walk atop the watchtower and attempt to capture Bigfoot. The Bigfoot offers slightly more relaxed gameplay than other horror titles. You are stuck in a huge forest when you must catch Bigfoot running a rampage in the forest.

You will need to gather key ingredients to set up the perfect trap for Bigfoot, and you will need to spend some time in the forest gathering them. Even though the environment is spooky, you should find it relatively easy to capture the Bigfoot and complete the game.

Halloween Hide and Seek

As the name suggests, Hide and Seek is a simple prop hunt where you are either the seeker or can become any prop. As the seeker, you need to shoot down players hiding as props using your weapons. However, if you’re a prop, you must transport into items and start moving into different parts to stay alive until the timer hits zero and you win the round.

During Halloween, the game has introduced scary maps where you have to use the scary surroundings to your advantage and hide in corners before the seeker hits you with their weapon.
