Today SK Telecom T1 announced that they have decided not to re-sign Lee “Duke” Ho-seong and Bae “Bengi” Seong-woong for the upcoming 2017 season. This news comes after a successful 2016 season where the team won both Riot sanctioned international events in the Mid-Season Invitational and the League of Legends World Championship, as well as the ESL produced IEM World Championship.

While Duke has only been with the team for the past year, Bengi has been part of the SKT organization since 2013, when he alongside Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok joined SK Telecom T1 K. From then, both he and Faker have went on to dominate the international League of Legends scene, winning six of the seven international events they participated in. The announcement did not reveal the future plans of either Bengi or Duke.

Faker, Bae “Bang” Jun-sik and Lee “Wolf” Jae-wan, alongside the coaching staff minus Lee “PoohManDu” Jeong-hyeon have all re-signed their contracts moving forward for 2017. With many high profile Korean free agents available such as Kim “Ssumday” Chan-ho and Han “Peanut” Wang-ho, SKT have a plethora of viable of options to choose from.
