This year’s Pool Party skins are going to Caitlyn, Gangplank, and Zoe

The Pool Party summer event is almost here.

There are three new skins joining the summer-ocious, splish-splashin’, fan-servicin’ Pool Party family, according to Riot’s teaser today on social media. Those three skins will go to Gangplank, Zoe, and Caitlyn.

The Pool Party skin line is typically an annual set, with past additions going to Rek’Sai, Draven, Zac, Fiora, Leona, and many, many more. In total, there are 13 Pool Party skins (14 if you say Surfer Singed belongs in that camp), not including this year’s three for Zoe, Cait, and Gangplank. While the skin line usually has more additions every year there weren’t any last year, making this set a comeback of sorts for the popular line.

Usually, Pool Party skins are pretty goofy compared to the game’s epic, scary, or otherwise badass skins. This set is no exception.

Gangplank goes full dad-mode with a charcoal grill in his recall animation and an unbuttoned Hawaiian shirt, Caitlyn’s clad in a bikini and sun hat and is fanned down by what appears to be a crab holding a giant leaf, and Zoe takes a dive into a magical pool that appears out of nowhere (fitting for Zoe).

The splash art pays homage to the game’s other goofy skins, including Pool Party Ziggs, Pool Party Lulu, and Beemo. We’re not sure why they’re all Yordles, but we’re also not sure that it matters.

If you were among the many people that missed having brand new Pool Party skins last summer, it’s time to get excited, because these rock. If you weren’t excited, that’s fine, too. You do you.
