There are many weather events that add obstacles and increase the overall difficulty to make it out of your scrap run alive. From quicksand and flooding to lightning strikes and night-time monsters appearing during the day—anything and everything is a threat in Lethal Company.

Unlike meteor showers, all other weather events are on display when you’re in orbit. This display helps you decide where you’d like to visit. This decision is based not only on Hazard Level or cost, but more so on whether the ongoing weather event is too risky.

The meteor shower joins the list of weather events, but they are a rarer phenomenon than others.

Lethal Company meteor shower guide

The ship’s autopilot issues a warning to all employees when the shower is about to start: “Emergency weather alert. Meteor showers detected. Up to 20-30 per hour. Take shelter immediately.” Approximately one hour after this warning, large meteors will slowly fall from the sky like balls of fire. They shatter upon hitting the ground, impacting anything within a close radius.

While the warning states meteors will fall every hour, up to 20-30 meteors per shower, this actually isn’t the case once the event begins. Instead, the shower will persist for multiple hours, and often won’t stop unless all employees return to orbit (or die during the scrap run).

With a 0.9 percent chance of appearing, the event can appear on any moon, but their occurrence isn’t set to a specific timeframe. Instead, a shower can occur anytime between 8:02am and 8:24pm. The chance of this event appearing in the morning increases to 8.1 percent, and drops to its base spawn chance as the day moves forward.

Due to it being classified as a weather event, it is far more likely that a shower will occur when no other event is present. So, if you want to experience this event for yourself, you should visit a moon without an ongoing weather event (e.g., flooding, stormy, or eclipsed).

Somehow, the meteors are incapable of destroying fragile bridges, but one headshot from a single meteor will render you critically injured. If you get close but don’t fall victim to its blast, the meteor will knock you back instead.

As there are few breaks between showers, we recommend sticking to the perimeter of the map, avoiding bridges, and using trees to shield yourself from a meteor strike. Rather than watching the shadows on the floor, you should look towards the sky as often as you can to determine where a meteor is falling, as the shadow isn’t accurate until the meteor is close to impact.
